Do I Need A Transfer Switch?

A transfer switch is an electrical switch that switches a load between two sources. All generators over 5,000 watts that do not have a built-in transfer switch require a manual or automatic transfer switch to safely transition from utility to generator power. An Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) is often installed where a standby generator is located, so that the generator may provide temporary electrical power if the utility source fails.

What Size Transfer Switch Do I Need?

Do you need a 50 amp transfer switch or a 5,000 amp transfer switch? The answer depends on your generator and application specifications. Let our team of power experts help you find the right transfer switch to meet your needs. Call or visit Pape Power Systems to learn more.
